PRJJE continues the Puerto Rico Ju-Jitsu Academy (PRJJA), founded on a chain that runs from Prof. Jedan O. Figueroa’s American Ju-Jitsu Academy — rooted in Miyama Ryu, Sanuce Ryu, Shorin Ryu, Vee Jitsu Te and Small Circle Ju Jitsu — to the academy reborn in 2023 with its own identity: succession, improvement, modernization.

Do I need experience?
None. Every student starts at the white belt. The curriculum assumes your first class is your first class.
What should I bring?
Comfortable athletic clothes for your free first class. Uniform guidance comes after you join — the official gi is cream, with the academy emblem.
Am I too old or too out of shape?
The system is progressive by design. You build fitness by training; intensity is matched to the student.
Is it safe?
Safety is an absolute gate in the system: techniques are taught with control, and a student is not promoted while executing them dangerously.
What does it cost?
Your first class is free. Memberships are published openly on this site — no hidden registration fees.
